VIGO CITY BY BELEN
I have been in Vigo three times in my live. The first time I visited I didn´t like much but I had a delicius seafood platter. This is the main reason why I came back to town. I always find very interesting the food journeys and for that reason I gave a new oportunity to come back to this City. On that time I founded a very dark town and dificult to move because of the many slopes streets.
On my second trip I got on a boat to an small island, Cangas. It was a raining day and the boat was moving fast and from side to side. The mayority of the passenger were local people. They didn´t bother over the movement of the boat, they travelled calm down and using theri phones as that was a normal journey. My position was stremealy different. I went all the way waching how the waves were breaking on the windows. I foundend mesmerizing. Once we arrevide I went for a lunch after been recomended by a local person. Obviusly I had fish again, which I love and after that I walked around the Village. As it was raining so hard I finished buyng a fishserman´s raincoat. The fish shop owner was from Venezuela. He told me about his live in his country. He owned a surf and fish shop and he was doing very well. Suddenly from one day to another he lost everithing. He had to take his family and changed his live to a new life. If you have the opportunity of visiting him you´ll find very interestings stolls for fishing. I will come back to the Cies Islands. I was recomended to visit them in summer. I am looking forward to visit them.
The third trip was on December bank Holidays. The main excuse was to stop on the way to Oporto and see the Cristmas lights. On this two days trip I had the opportunity of Knowing much better Vigo. I took a free tour and the boy who tought us about the town made us to love it. They are very proud of their town and their people. They explained us why there are so many Gallegos over the world. The emigrants histories were sad. I think you feel so well in Vigo because there are not strangers on this City. After of their experience abroad they have converted themselves on the best ambassador of the city.
The Christmas lights and decorations are paid by the conmerces. The have got to be very well recognized all over Spain. The town mostly in the afternoon after the lights are on was crowded of happy people. There were so many people from all over Spain and all diferents countries. The Christmas atmosphere was in all around the center.
Another think I founded diferent was seeing children eating in restaurants with their parents anda families. I was shocked to see children in restaurants becouse were I from most of the times you just see them in bars or food chains. I realized that they don´t mind so much about dress but very much about family traditional customs.
This town however is from the north of Spain reminded me much to Napoles, another town I always love to come back. The reason I think is dued to local people and mixture of old a new buildings.
On one afternoon I went to see the Swan lake Ballet. I love the classic music mainly on Chistmas time.
If you are thinking of visiting Vigo I recomend you to be aware of the long slopes streets and think of taking a boat. My good the oyster street is wonderfull¡¡¡¡¡
I´LL COME BACK. OBVIOUSLY
